Catalpa trees, also known as ‘Indian Bean Trees’ are quick-growing and can become a real feature of your garden. Catalpa trees have highly recognisable leaves which are extremely large and heart-shaped; the leaf colour ranges from golden green to dark purple depending on the variety. In summer, pretty flowers appear and these range in colour but are predominantly bell-shaped. These trees are unmistakable in autumn when the long and slender bean-like fruits hang pendulously from the branches - hence the common name of Indian Bean Tree.
